Using Creativity to Cope

I haven’t written a blog post in a while because my anxiety popped up and simply refused to go away, at least long enough for me to write a blog post while taking care of my full time work responsibilities. Today I finally reached a place where I don’t feel overwhelmed by the thought of writing a post, in fact I’ve been working on ways to expand my blog.

As I mentioned, Brina B Motivates is a blog that focuses on trauma education and building a community for survivors and those who want to learn more about the effects of trauma. I don’t want this space to just be about dwelling in negative thoughts and feelings, however, I don’t want to ignore them either. I want to create a space where you can acknowledge the negative impacts of trauma while having fun in the process. Too often Trauma Survivors lose themselves in their trauma and it becomes their identity. I want this space to address that issue.

Therefore, while my anxiety has been getting the best of me for the past few weeks in terms of blog writing, I’ve been able to use my creative mind to think of ways to expand the blog to incorporate the idea of enjoying life while coping and managing trauma. I’ve been in the creative lab thinking of unique content that will focus on these three words: Education. Community. Coping. These words will be the things I focus on when doing anything related to Brina B Motivates moving forward.

While I’m bummed that my anxiety pushed me off my blogging game just as I was getting started, I’m grateful for the time to dive into my creative mind to cope and have a planning strategy for the blog. Keep an eye out for new content, Brina B Motivates is just getting started 🙏🏾😊
